Z124 .6 paragraph 6 for Thermal Shock requirements on products such as
Cultured Marble, Solid Surface, Fiberglass, & Acrylic.

Where do your FIBERGLASS products Rate?
• For testing of FIBERGLASS products, Universal Laboratory
implements the complete scope of testing for the applicable industry
Standards, such as the Ignition Test of ANSI Z-124 Section 5.
• The maximum burn rating is 30 seconds for test specimens.
• To assure your product’s ability to retain its luster, shine, and
texture, we’ll perform the Stain Resistance Test of ANSI Z124 Section
5.
• The maximum stain rating for this Standard is 50.

If you manufacture GELCOAT/ACRYLIC products, Universal
Laboratory provides complete testing for your company for
certification to ANSI Z124 - including; Water Resistance. For this
test, specimens are installed in distilled water in a boil test tank
and boiled for 100 hours to determine loss of gloss, cracking,
blistering, change in color, and surface profile ratings. To determine
the tests and qualifications required for all of your products, let a

Research & Development testing at the manufacturer’s discretion to
give them ideas so that they may come up with more ways to enhance
their product’s appearance, structural integrities, and resistance to
certain conditions, as well as many other tests to simulate use, wear,
